Private

My step-mother is Marilyn Brenner and her maiden name is English.  She has been married to my dad, David E. Brenner, since 1975. Below are her comments from an email.

I don't know if any of this helps you, but it's very interesting.  I know from the Lewis and Clark journals that they commented on the numbers of wolves and deer there.  During that time the Platte River came all the way down and emptied into the Missouri there at Parkville.  During one of the floods in the later 1800's, the river changed the channel and the Platte River was pushed back to it's current location.

FROM WHAT I CAN REMEMBER WHITE ALLOE CREEK IS NOT TO FAR FROM PARKVILLE LANDING AND IT IS THE SITE OF THE VERY OLD ENGLISH LANDING WHERE MY ANCESTORS OPERATED A FERRY TO CROSS THE MISSOURI RIVER. IN FACT THE CITY OF PARKVILLE ORIGINALLY WAS CALLED “ENGLISH LANDING”. PLATTE COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY SHOULD HAVE INFO. ABOUT IT AND WHEN IT WAS ACTIVE. I KNOW THERE WAS A MEDICAL DR. WHOSE SURNAME WAS” ENGLISH” IN THE PARKVILLE AREA. I DO HAVE THE GENEOLOGICAL RECORD OF THE MACGREGORS, THE GREAT GRANDMOTHERS MAIDEN NAME, WHO MARRIED MY “ENGLISH” GRANDFATHER HAD A FARM WHERE THE OLD “ANTIOCH CHAPEL”, (I BELIEVE) STILL STANDS ON ANTIOCH ROAD. IF YOU WOULD LIKE I WILL SEND YOU A COPY OF “THE    QUAKER GREGS” TO PERUSE. (YES, MY ANCESTORS WERE QUAKERS). YOUR DAD SAYS THAT WHITE ALLOE CREEK WAS A STOP FOR LEWIS AND CLARK TOO.
